As I already reported, the Nikkor Z 120-300mmf/2.8 TC VR S lens (see previous coverage) will be released at the end of October:
The next announcement after the 120-300 is expected in November (or before the end of the year) for the Nikon Z70 camera.
Here are some additional details on the upcoming Nikkor Z 120-300mmf/2.8 TC VR S lens:
- The new lens will be roughly the same weight as the Canon RF 100-300mm f/2.8 L IS USM lens (around 5.7lb/2590g) – significantly lighter than the Nikkor AF-S 120-300mm f/2.8E FL ED SR VR (7.2lb/3250g).
- The 120-300 Z lens will be the most expensive lens in Nikon’s lineup, with a rumored price higher than the Nikkor Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S lens (currently $12,696.95 after a $2,000 rebate). The list of all Nikkor lenses sorted by price can be found here. Update: the price could be over 16,000 dillars/euros.
- Very limited production; expect very long wait times.
- Official release date: October 28/29.
- Leaked pictures of the lens:
